Elevate your mid-century or Hollywood Regency decor with this stunning, authentic vintage 1968 sculptural ashtray base designed by famed California sculptor Lloyd Bryan. Known for his intricately cast chalkware and plaster creations distributed during the 1950s–1960s via Jaru Art Products, Bryan’s pieces capture the peak era of Regency Moderne luxury. This heavy, square plaster base is intricately molded with stylized floral arabesques and finished with a multi-tonal metallic gold and bronze wash. Nestled perfectly inside is its original, removable diamond-shaped clear glass insert featuring an embossed starburst/daisy design on the bottom. Because chalkware is famously delicate, finding an intact combination with the glass insert still present makes this a highly collectible find for tobacciana enthusiasts or retro home curators. Use it traditionally as an elegant ashtray, or repurposed on an entryway console as a striking catchall for keys and jewelry.
